Citizen engagement in and support for peace processes have been deemed important sustainable after civil wars. Yet much of what we know about wars centers on the interests elite actors. This special feature aims to advance a research agenda focusing citizens address this mismatch. In introduction feature, first present empirical evidence situating relation war processes. We then trace current state literature roles Following that, introduce conceptual framework designed improve scholarly analysis political behavior also locate individual contributions within order demonstrate its utility as means helping identify directions future research.
